Service Technician – Leicester

We are looking for a dedicated Service Technician to join us and work in hospitals around the Leicestershire and Rutland area.
Your Role:
As a Service Technician, you will ensure an effective and timely product delivery and maintenance service to customers within the hospital. After training, this will include the setup of products for patients within agreed delivery times, repair and proactive maintenance of products and provision of support to customers in various clinical environments in regard to the product.
Main responsibilities of the role:
– Ensuring clean, ready-to-use products are taken to the correct hospital locations
– Collect products after use and return to the main Medstrom Logistics facility in Castle Donington
– Complete job records on a handheld PDA device
– Install products into designated locations
– Provide product demonstrations and basic user training to hospital staff
– Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
Hours: 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm (some flexibility may be required with start and finish times).
The applicant will also be required to work weekends on a rota basis (with paid overtime).
You will also have the option to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota (once trained) to support the team and the customer. This is subject to an on-call payment and additional payment for hours worked.
Experience Needed:

Qualifications and experience requirements:
- Mechanical or electrical background desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
- Experience of working within a healthcare setting is desirable
- A full UK driving licence required (we use long wheelbase vans, but training and support to build confidence in manoeuvring of these vehicles will be provided if required)
Personal Requirements:
- A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to communicate effectively
- Ability to work under own initiative, and follow procedures laid out by the business to achieve deadlines
- Basic knowledge of hygiene, health and safety rules
- Basic PC skills including email and MS Office
- A DBS check (or willingness to complete one)
This role involves lifting, carrying and loading products into the van.
