Background Behind the Partnership
At the beginning of July, we were thrilled to establish new partnerships with three esteemed NHS Trusts: Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, and University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. These collaborations are a significant step forward in enhancing care for plus-size patients.
Central to this initiative is our Medstrom Select packages and solutions, offering not only state-of-the-art equipment but expert clinical knowledge from our team. This combination ensures that patients receive the highest standard of dignified care, tailored to their unique needs.

Emphasis on Training
Medstrom are renowned for clinical and training support, going ‘above and beyond’ as our standard practice. A part of the new bariatric contract, we offered training sessions across the three sites, ensuring staff are well-equipped and trained to deliver patient care. This included training for our bariatric beds, mattresses and associated accessories, with future sessions planned for the rest of the year.
With guidance from our National Bariatric Lead, as well our Clinical Advisors and more, we delivered bite-size sessions at ward level. This was particularly well received as it enabled a fluid rotation of staff training to be conducted – all whilst minimising the impact on precious nursing time and disruption to patient care.
